Overview

PayPeek is a Chrome extension that lets users pay to have paywalled article content retrieved by workers using micropayments on the Tempo blockchain. This policy describes what data the extension collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Collect

Wallet Credentials

When you connect your Tempo wallet, the extension reads your passkey credential ID and public key from wallet.tempo.xyz. This is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and is never sent to any third party.

Access Key Sessions

When you create a time-limited access key, the private key and session metadata (expiry, spending limit) are stored in chrome.storage.session and are automatically cleared when the browser is closed or the key expires.

Transaction Log

A local log of payment transactions (transaction hashes, amounts, timestamps) is kept in chrome.storage.local for your reference. This data stays on your device.

Content Requests and Results

URLs you request, cached article content, and screenshots are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. Request metadata (URL, amount, wallet address) is sent to the PayPeek server to facilitate the content retrieval marketplace.

Page Content (Workers)

If you act as a worker, the extension extracts article text and captures a screenshot of the current page when you choose to fulfill a request. This content is submitted to the PayPeek server and delivered to the requester.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No browsing history
• No personal information (name, email, phone)
• No analytics or tracking
• No data is sold to third parties

Third-Party Services

• Tempo Blockchain (tempo.xyz): Used for on-chain USDC micropayments. Your wallet address and transactions are recorded on the public blockchain.
• PayPeek Server (contentbazaar.exe.xyz): Facilitates the content request marketplace. Receives task metadata (URL, amount, wallet address) and worker submissions (article content, screenshots).

Data Storage

All user data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage APIs. No data is stored on external servers beyond what is necessary to operate the content marketplace (task metadata and submitted content).

Data Deletion

You can clear all local data at any time by disconnecting your wallet in the extension popup or by uninstalling the extension. To remove task data from the server, contact us at the email below.
